Silence should never protect violence.
Deenal is a secure and inclusive digital platform, developed in Senegal by Justice and Dignity for the Women of Sahel (JDWS) to give voice and agency to survivors and communities in the fight against gender-based violence (GBV).
Designed for and with Sahelian women, Deenal goes beyond basic reporting — it connects survivors with existing services (health, legal, psychosocial) while breaking linguistic, cultural, and technological barriers that often prevent access to help.
Through its visual and voice interface, Deenal can be used even in rural or low-connectivity areas, or by women who cannot read or write.
Survivors can report cases either by filling out the visual form or by submitting a voice message in their local language, anonymously and confidentially.
Deenal is also directly linked to the regional podcast "Femmes du Sahel, Voix du Monde", which amplifies women's voices, promotes awareness, and connects communities to local protection solutions.
Deenal is not a duplication, but a complementary and innovative solution — adapted to the realities of the Sahel, compliant with GBVIMS / GBVoR standards, and grounded in a community-driven, technological, and human-centered approach.
Together, we can transform technology into a tool of dignity and protection for all women across the Sahel.
